Navigating your Coverage

Mastering your coverage

Understanding your benefits doesn’t have to be hard. This page will walk you through what coverage you have, especially for dental, and how to use it step-by-step.

What’s Covered?

You have access to health, dental, and vision coverage. Here’s what that means:

Dental

You’re covered for most routine dental work. That includes:

  • Check-ups and cleanings
  • Fillings – when you get a cavity
  • X-rays
  • Simple extractions – like pulling a tooth
  • Some major work – like crowns or root canals

What Else is Covered?

  • Prescription drugs
  • Eye exams and glasses/contacts
  • Paramedical services (like massage therapy, physio, and more)
  • Travel insurance (for emergencies when you’re outside your province or Canada)

You can find full details in your plan booklet.

How to Use Your Coverage

Using your benefits is easy!

  1. Go to an approved provider. Most dentists and pharmacies can directly bill your plan.
Ask if they can submit the claim for you.
  2. Bring your benefits card
If they ask for your plan name or ID, check your card or your online account.
    Pay your part
    - If the full cost isn’t covered, you’ll pay the difference at the time of your visit.
  3. Need to claim yourself?
If the provider doesn’t bill directly, you’ll need to:
    - Pay upfront
    - Submit a claim online or by mail
    - Get reimbursed (they’ll send you the money back)
